• PREFACE The primary purpose of this document is to aid family historians and genealogists in their search of the past. Hopefully it will provide some useful information to one's ancestral search. However the user must remember that the data may not be completely accurate, In some instances the original records are wrong and sometimes errors are made when the information is transcribed. Actually the data contained herein was derived from three sources, namely: o The current Church Records of this cemetery o An Oct 1974 transcription* of this cemetery as published in the South Florida Pioneers o The markers/gravestones that existed, 7 Dec 1992 The names are printed in alphabetical order from left-to-right on each page rather than the more conventional vertical-column orientation. If a discrepancy occurred, preference was given to the 1992 gravestone data, otherwise the most complete available data was used especially for birth and death dates. The actual procedure followed was to first copy the current Church Records into the desired format and then check this information against that published in the South Florida Pioneers. The Church Records contained 626 names and 37 unknowns for a total of 663 occupied grave sites. Of course the Church Records were more up to date but the October 1974 data had 24 names which were not on the Church's data sheets and these names were added. The new list was taken to the cemetery for a final check against the existing markers/gravestones. More names were added and the list published in this report has 666 names. However, because a few of the added names were of spouses with open death dates who may or may not be buried there, this number is not indicative of the total number of occupied graves. Furthermore no attempt was made to either correlate any of the additional names with the 37 unknown gravesites in the Church Records. The final list only contains: i) the original 626 names, ii) 24 names from the 1974 transcription data and iii) 16 names from the December 1992 survey. The 'unknowns' are not listed. A schematic drawing of the cemetery is included which indicates both the 'ideal', ie a preferred grave layout, vs the actual location of many of the grave sites. While this drawing is not considered to be totally accurate or up-to-date, it does show that it is not practical to assign many of the graves to a specific site by a grid # and lot # methodology. The problem is further complicated because some of the actual grid/sector corner stones don't follow the 'ideal' layout thus only Sector t's are given in this document for the location of the graves. Fortunately, the structure of the 1974 data made it possible to reconstruct the path taken and assign a 'probable' sector location to the graves on that list. It should be noted that none of these 24 added names have gravestones/markers and a 'P' in front of the sector number was used to denote their probable location. All of the other locations, ie sector numbers, were obtained from Church Records and/or from a visual survey of the gravesite in mid December 1992. While the sector data provided in this document does not pinpoint the location of a grave, it definitely minimizes the area one needs to search.
