He was a lifelong resident of Punta Gorda, Fla. He was survived by his wife, Lillian; stepson, Timothy B. Towles; stepdau., Paulette E. Towles Brown; mother, Beulah Lowe; bro, Ben, Lum, Sim and Pete Lowe; sis., Ruth Miles, Esther Russell, Ada Mae Smith, Mary Jo Rude, Frances Rogers, Velma Norton and Delia Mitchell; and eight grandchildren. PGDHN 11 Sep. 1980. Military service: SN U.S. NAVY KOREA. A ceramic steer is affixed to his gravestone. LOT 128 RUDE, MICHAEL EDWARD, 23, b. 24 Jan. 1960, d. Aug. 1983. A lifelong resident of Punta Gorda, Fla., he was a journeyman lineman with Southern Utilities. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, local union No. 108 of Tampa. He was survived by his wife, Denise; parents, Mary Jo & Chester E. Rude; grandparents, Helen & Loran Rude; sis., Deborah Daniels. Baptist. Obit: PGDHN 09 Aug. 1983. Epitaph: OUR LOVING RAY OF SUNSHINE. LOT 129 RUDE, CHESTER EDWARD, 57, b. 17 Apr. 1935, Helena, Ark., d.15 Feb. 1993, Lakeland, Fla. He had moved to Punta Gorda, Fla., from Arcadia, Fla., in 1956. He had lived in Arcadia since he was six years old. He lived in Punta Gorda 37 years. He started as a carpenter and had his own business. Then he worked for General Development Corporation and for Punta Gorda Isles. He began working for Wayne Goff and continued there for twelve years. He was a construction superintendent for Goff Construction. He is survived by wife, Mary Jo; dau. & son-in-law, Debbie and Dale Hadley of Port Chariotte; bro., David of Port Charlotte and Ronald of San Jose, Calif; step-sis., Sandy Duncan and Dottie Powell, both of north Florida; father, Loran of Arcadia; grandsons, Joey Davis and Dale Hadley, both of Port Chariotte and numerous nieces and nephews.
