DAVIS, WILLA A, 87, b. 17 Feb. 1897, d. 20 Feb. 1984, wife of Heriin M. Davis. She moved from her native town of Perry, Fla. to Punta Gorda In 1903. She was a Noble Grand of Golden Rule Rebecca Lodge 60 in Punta Gorda. She was survived by her son, Murray Davis; dau., Aze\ D. Polk (Mrs. Charies M. Polk); sis., Bessie Osteen; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Baptist Obit PGDHN 22 Feb. 1984. A graduate of Chariotte High School, she married Charies M. Polk Sr. of Arcadia, Fla.. in 1939. In 1953, she and her husband moved to Punta Gorda and opened Badcock Furniture Store. Active in the Golden Rule Rebekah Lodge, she served as noble grand. Charies died in 1997, and she continued to own the Badcock business. Methodist. She is survived by her sons, John L. Polk (Tara) and Charies M. Polk Jr. (Paige), both of Punta Gorda; grandchildren, Victoria M. Opsahl (Brad), Kristin L., Paul Lee and Charies Mike Polk III (Jeannine); and great-grandchildren, Emory, Croslyn and Grant Polk. Obit CSH 08 Mar. 2000, p. 06B. Saley of the MCCIelland-Saley Funeral Home (Punta Gorda Directory 1927-28). SALEY, THOMAS, 15, d. 10 May 1927, son of Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Saley. He was a student of Bayshore School in Fort Myers, and was killed when a playground slide collapsed and fell on him. Obit PGH 13 May 1927. STANTON, DAVID T.b. 1848. d. 05 Mar. 1919. Epitaph: IN LOVING MEMORY OF DAVID T. STANTON WHO FELL ASLEEP. UNKNOWN 38
