NY State Senator George Chahoon, owner of Peace River Lodge, is shown at left sitting on the steps of the lodge. The man sitting second from right is Howard F. Bliss, publisher of the Janesville (Wisconsin) Gazette. The woman sitting next to Mr. Bliss at far right is thought to be Mrs. Bliss. The other women are unidentified. Peace River Lodge was built in 1885 by Dr. A.T. Holleyman and at various times was known as the National Hotel, Peace River Lodge, Baxter House, and Beajim's Lodge. The rustic sportsman's lodge was sited on the Peace River in Cleveland; it was lost to fire c.1965.
