This photo of the south side of the c.1913 Herald Building was taken from Herald Court, near the north entrance to the county courthouse. The building was thought to be the oldest commercial structure left in the county when it was destroyed by Hurricane Charley on August 13, 2004. The unit seen at far left, on the corner of Herald Court and Taylor Street, was occupied by the Punta Gorda Herald office. Other tenants at that time included an architect (unit 2); artist Vicki Glynn (unit 3); and freelance writer Lynn Harrell (unit 4).
